Mary Abbott made significant contributions to the world of abstract art. However, she went largely unknown in her time, and remains unknown today. As mentioned in my definition of the Humanities, the voices of female abstract expressionists went largely unheard for decades after abstract art emerged as a form. Mary Abbott falls in the category of voices turned to low volume.
